Health & Wellbeing Community Clinic

Speak to members of the PCN team and Community Services to discuss and assess your Health and Wellbeing needs.

Our Paramedics, Health and Wellbeing Coach, Clinical Pharmacist and Social Prescriber will be available on the day, no appointment necessary.

Drop in for High and Annual Blood Pressure reviews and Heart Health assessments and any questions you may have.

Our new Cloud-Based Telephony system (Surgery Connect) is now live.

Our telephone number remains the same, 01621 772360. You will now also hear a number of options available to assist your query/request. All calls are recorded.

Please note that the surgery and dispensary will be shut from 12.00 noon on the following dates for staff training. We will re open as usual at 8.00am on the following day. 

Should you need an emergency doctor during this time please telephone the surgery and you will be directed to the emergency doctor service.

Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners are highly qualified nurse specialists who can prescribe and refer in much the same way as a doctor they also undertake home visits. All our emergency surgeries are run by the Nurse Practitioners.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Practice Management

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Administration

The Admin staff deal with all the day to day paperwork involved with running a busy GP surgery. They process all the results, deal with letters and referrals and deal with patient queries.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They take messages for the GPs and requests for home visits.
